Central Lincoln PUD is in production with Telvent Miner & Miner’s Designer solution. Serving 37,000 electric customers in the central Oregon area, CLPUD continues to expand its use of GIS with the ArcFM Solution, which now includes Designer, a GIS-based graphic design solution. CLPUD currently has 31 seats of ArcFM to support basic mapping and 14 seats of Designer to support its design process.

CLPUD implemented Designer to take advantage of more modern technology and leverage its investment in ArcFM. An interface between Designer and the PUD’s site inventory, work order and customer information systems has streamlined the design process and improved information integrity. CLPUD is also able to configure the user interface and provide engineers easy-to-use tools that support their workflow. The utility also benefits from improved efficiencies including removal of multiple data entry and standardization of the design process.

Neal Myers, GIS supervisor at Central Lincoln PUD, says “Central Lincoln’s goal with this project was to upgrade our existing design application with Designer. It was important that any disruption to other business process integrations and automation tools be minimal. By using ArcObjects and Designer interfaces to implement the integrations, we were able to meet this goal.”
