ABB has received an order from Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OG&E) for its ABB Network Manager Distribution Management System (DMS).

OG&E, a recipient of a $130 million U.S. Department of Energy ARRA stimulus grant, plans to deploy Network Manager DMS as part of its Positive Energy® Smart Grid program to increase its distribution system reliability and efficiency and improve customer service. Full deployment is pending Oklahoma Corporation Commission approval of cost recovery.

OG&E will deploy ABB’s Network Manager in its Oklahoma City operations control center to monitor, manage and optimize the distribution network. The deployment will provide a modern integrated platform for smart grid automation and optimization applications.

ABB Network Manager DMS is an operations management system designed to help utilities reduce operating and maintenance costs while enhancing customer service. It provides advanced network modeling and management, integrated switching and tagging, trouble call and outage management, crew management, and historical archiving and reporting. Network Manager DMS also offers integrated SCADA and advanced applications, such as fault location, unbalanced load flow, Volt/Var optimization and simulation mode, as well as interfaces to other information systems that permit organizations to leverage time-critical data across the enterprise.
