ABB has received an order from National Grid for its ABB Network Manager DMS. National Grid, a leading energy utility, will deploy Network Manager DMS for distribution system reliability and efficiency, and for customer service to 3.3 million customers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island.

Last year, National Grid contracted ABB for the implementation of Network Manager SCADA/EMS for the management of its transmission assets. The Network Manager DMS solution will complement the Network Manager SCADA/EMS, providing National Grid with an integrated platform for managing its transmission and distribution systems.

ABB Network Manager DMS is an operations management system designed to help utilities reduce operating and maintenance costs while enhancing customer service. It provides network modeling and management, integrated switching and tagging, trouble call and outage management, crew management, and historical archiving and reporting. The system offers integrated applications, such as fault location, unbalanced load flow and simulation mode, as well as interfaces to other information systems that permit organizations to leverage time-critical data across the enterprise.
