Utility Integration Solutions, Inc. has announced the successful commissioning of its DRBizNet DRMS software to serve as the technology platform for the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator's system-wide demand response program.

The DRBizNet software was configured for Indiana-based Midwest ISO to simplify and streamline interaction between market operators and wholesale market participants with an emphasis toward Aggregation of Retail Customers. The software provides functionalities for creating locations, enrolling them into various markets, orchestrating DR events, collecting meter data, calculating baselines, and producing accurate settlements. The meter data is used in calculating market participants compensation for their participation in the DR activities.

Midwest ISO's service territory includes all or parts of 13 U.S. states stretching from Ohio to Montana, as well as Canadian province Manitoba. Midwest ISO is responsible for ensuring the reliable transmission of 100,000 MW of energy throughout its regions and serves as one of the world's largest energy markets.

DRBizNet is officially deployed in production at Midwest ISO, enabling market participants to enroll demand response resources, in anticipation of the opening of demand response markets pending FERC approval.
