Landis+Gyr has successfully verified compatibility of its Gridstream advanced metering solution with the RuggedMAX WiMAX wide area network from RuggedCom.

This capability allows Gridstream customers to use the RuggedMAX solution to communicate with Gridstream data collectors. In the Gridstream solution, wide area networks are used to transport information between data collectors and head-end servers located at the utility or Landis+Gyr’s data center.

RuggedMAX is a high power WiMAX base station that is designed for data backhaul from advanced metering, distribution automation and SCADA systems.
