Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) has selected Cogsdale's complete ERP package including Financials (FIS), Customer Service (CIS), Work Management (WMS) to replace its legacy systems. Owensboro Municipal Utilities is an electric, water, and telecommunications utility in western Kentucky that serves about 26,000 electric customers, 25,000 water customers, and 150 telecommunications customers. Electricity is generated by the two unit coal-fired Elmer Smith plant, which has a capacity of 445 MW.

OMU selected the system project based on the following criteria:

  1. An integrated Financial Information System (FIS) to facilitate real time access to data that will allow improved forecasting and decision making.
  2. An integrated Work Management System (WMS) to help manage the transmission and distribution of electric and water systems.
  3. An integrated Customer Information System (CIS) to enhance services provided to our customer base.
Cogsdale's WebProcure solution is a key component of this project as it will allow OMU to improve its purchasing and requisitioning process throughout the organization. Cogsdale's CustomerWeb 2.0 will provide OMU customers with 24/7 access to their utility accounts so they can view their bills, analyze consumption history, request ebilling or make payments using several forms of tender.
