Czech Power Utility to Install SAP-based ERP System

Sept. 27, 2006
Ness Technologies, Inc. has announced that its Czech subsidiary, Ness Czech, will deliver an SAP-based ERP system to the Bulgarian division of CEZ, the Czech power utility.

Ness Technologies, Inc.'s Czech subsidiary, Ness Czech, will deliver an SAP-based ERP system to the Bulgarian division of CEZ, the Czech power utility. The large-scale, multi-million dollar project will be completed by Jan. 1, 2007.

CEZ is the biggest electricity producer in the Czech Republic and also operates in other central and eastern European countries, including Bulgaria, where CEZ owns three distribution companies.

The new SAP-based ERP system will include modules for financial accounting, asset management, control, liquidity management, logistics, and data warehousing.

"In 2005, we took over five power distribution companies in the Czech Republic and needed to unify internal processes within the entire CEZ Group," said Tomas Pleskac, Director of CEZ's Distribution Division. "SAP for Utilities system proved to be an ideal solution that met all our requirements and supported our further expansion. It was the largest integration project in Central European IT conducted by SAP, while Ness was a sub-contractor. That is why we once again selected an ERP system from SAP to be delivered by Ness for our Bulgarian acquisition."
