Conectiv Energy to Implement Generation Management System

Open Systems International, Inc. has been awarded a contract by Conectiv Energy Supply, Inc. to implement a new Generation Management System (GMS) based on OSI’s Monarch platform.

Open Systems International, Inc. has been awarded a contract by Conectiv Energy Supply, Inc. (Conectiv Energy) to implement a new Generation Management System (GMS) based on OSI’s popular Monarch platform.

OSI’s Monarch Generation Management System functionality includes: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Automatic Generation Control and Dispatch, Web-based Graphical User Interface, Calculation and Trending subsystems, and an interface to Conectiv Energy’s corporate historian warehouse. The proposed system provides data exchange and market interfaces with multiple Energy Markets including PJM, MISO, ISONE and NYISO, and includes a Backup Control/Disaster Recovery system for maximum system availability.

Conectiv Energy Supply, Inc. is headquartered in Newark, Delaware, and is a wholly owned unregulated subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc., a company created by the merger of Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco) and Conectiv. Conectiv Energy is an asset-backed merchant power generation company that uses its regional expertise, intellectual capital and risk management tools to optimize the value of its power plants in the competitive wholesale energy marketplace. Conectiv Energy owns and operates approximately 50 units, with a combined capacity of 3700 MW in the PJM market space, and also manages 3 units in the NYISO.
