Bonneville Power Administration has selected NetCracker’s TOMS Solution as the core of its Telecommunication System Information Management program. Part of the U.S. Department of Energy, Bonneville Power Administration operates a high-voltage transmission grid comprising more than 15,000 miles of lines and associated substations in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. It also markets more than a third of the electricity consumed in the Pacific Northwest.

Bonneville Power purchased NetCracker’s Planning & Design and Resource Inventory capabilities in an effort to streamline the planning, designing, installation, and management of its telecommunication system and associated circuits. The solution aims to modernize the resource management domain and enables stronger assurance capabilities. At the same time, the solution strives to streamline BPA’s workflow and business processes, improving operational efficiencies around planning capabilities and the speed and accuracy of processing modifications to the telecommunication system used to monitor and operate the transmission grid.
