Incenergy LLC, a Smart Grid software company and energy management systems integrator, and the Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative today announced a smart grid pilot program for Bluebonnet’s residential members.

Incenergy LLC and the Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative have announced a smart grid pilot program for Bluebonnet’s residential members. Incenergy’s innovative software platform provides valuable energy information and tools to manage electricity usage both on the consumer side of the meter and up to the grid-management level. With Incenergy’s wireless networking system, residents can manage real-time energy usage of a range of home appliances and systems and optimize the scheduling of energy use to improve energy efficiency and reduce electricity bills. This program will focus on heating ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and provide Bluebonnet and its customers with new ways to save energy.

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative serves 14 counties in Central Texas. The cooperative has outlined a Sustainable Grid Strategy that involves the integration of new technologies and programs to increase efficiency, maintain low costs and high quality power to its members.

The deployment of Incenergy energy management systems will enable Bluebonnet to establish energy use profiles and measure the impact of new technology, information, and pricing systems. Residents who enroll in the pilot program will be able to control and schedule their energy consumption through a Web portal and various smart phone devices. The Incenergy systems will provide new ways for Bluebonnet members to understand their energy consumption and make smart energy choices.
