Atlantic Municipal Utilities (AMU) has chosen Tantalus for its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) deployment.

The deployment is funded by a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) grant, along with funds contributed by the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU). It will take advantage of the Tantalus Utility Network, which provides consumption reporting, power quality monitoring, outage notification and voltage alarms, as well as control of select air conditioning and water heating loads.

AMU becomes the first in the area to benefit from the Tantalus/Itron strategic partnership, which delivers a wide range of smart metering benefits and ensures that public utilities across North and Central America and the Caribbean will be able to provide increased levels of customer service, greater service reliability, improved efficiency and access to usage information that smart metering delivers.
