LonMark International, a non-profit international association recognized for the certification, education, and promotion of interoperability standards for control networking, has announced the formation of LonMark Russia. LonMark Russia is the 11th member of the LonMark affiliate network that provides programs and support for members throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.

LonMark Russia is backed by five companies who develop education and promotion programs to establish greater awareness of the value of open solutions using LONWORKS technology to the Russian market. Founding members of LonMark Russia include: ARMO-Group, BACScenter, Human Engineering, StroyGroupAutomatica Ltd and Midexpo Exhibitions & Fairs.

“I am very pleased to see the formation of LonMark Russia and the expansion of LONWORKS technology into the Russian Federation,” said Ron Bernstein, executive director of LonMark International. “This new organization will provide Russian LonMark members with important resources for selling, installing, integrating, supporting and using LonWorks technology-based control systems,” continued Bernstein.

“We see tremendous opportunity for open, integrated systems in the Russian market,” said Gregory Latyshev, chairman and founding member of LonMark Russia. “One of our first activities involves hosting a pavilion at HI-TECH HOUSE & BUILDING, the largest buildings trade fair in Russia featuring automation solutions and technologies for energy efficient buildings and homes,” continued Latyshev.

LonMark International’s mission is to create, support, and promote the standards for open, interoperable LonWorks technology-based products, systems, and professionals. Membership to LonMark International is open to any manufacturer, distributor, engineer, system integrator, or end user committed to the development, specification, and use of open, interoperable products utilizing ISO/IEC 14908-1 and related standards.
