Energy Efficiency Now Larger than Nuclear Power in the U.S.

EE now tops Nuclear Power, taking the third place if considered on par with generation.

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recently analyzed the latest-available data (EIA’s May 2016 Monthly Energy Review) on net electricity generation for all sectors, and compared the size of each source to state-level data on evaluated energy savings from utility-sector Energy Efficiency (EE) programs.  As shown in the graph below, EE now tops Nuclear Power, taking the third place if considered on par with generation:
