Douglas County P.U.D in Washington has ordered a comprehensive GIS, design/staking, fiber management and work management solution implementation.

Telvent is working with SSP Innovations, LLC to perform the implementation. DCPUD provides retail electric service to approximately 18,000 customers, 24 broadband communication ISPs and 68 water customers within Douglas County in Washington state.

While North America’s largest utilities have access to an array of tools for managing geographical information, design and fiber networks, small and mid-sized utilities like DCPUD are often faced with using a variety of disparate methods for handling data, designing and viewing work and managing their orders. For this reason, DCPUD’s wide functional and operational needs required a more coherent and connected solution.

The tight integration between SSP’s work management solution, Workforce Management (WFM), and Telvent’s staking solution is uniquely tailored and priced for small and mid-sized utilities and will provide DCPUD many operational benefits that will lead to cost savings and increased efficiency over the short and long term. Benefits include better streamlined reporting, viewing and designing of work, and considerable less paper usage.

The project includes implementation of Telvent’s ArcFM for GIS interfacing and asset management, Designer for all work design and staking needs, Fiber Manager to manage all fiber and graphical work, and ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine to interface while in the field.
