SmartEnergy IP has launched the first-ever Smart Grid Customer Education Model.

SmartEnergy IP has launched the first-ever Smart Grid Customer Education Model. The model provides a common framework for utilities to educate customers on the benefits of Smart Grid, and encourages close collaboration and communication between IT, metering, and marketing departments within utilities.

SmartEnergy IP is the leading provider of Smart Grid customer education strategies to the utilities industry, providing strategy to utilities, regulators and industry stakeholders globally.

“We are excited to introduce SmartEnergy IP’s Smart Grid Customer Education Model to the industry and believe there is significant benefit in providing a common standardized framework for customer education, communication, and engagement,” said Juliet Shavit, Founder of SmartEnergy IP. “This proven methodology provides genuine requirements around communications strategy which has traditionally been considered a ‘soft’ topic by utilities and their Smart Grid integrators.”

SmartEnergy IP believes that customer education is a critical component of success for the roll out of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and Smart Grid related programs and technologies. The model identifies key customer education actions by deployment phase including pre-deployment, deployment, introduction of benefits, and post-deployment programs.
