Western Power, Western Australia, has safely restored the electricity network in the Parkerville, Stoneville area that was damaged by a recent bushfire in the suburbs of Perth.
A total of 163 poles have been replaced and 9 kms of power lines re-strung in the Parkerville, Stoneville area damaged by a bushfire over last weekend. All 235 customers who we are able to connect to the network will receive power to their homes. The remaining customers still without power will need electrical contractors before their power can be turned back on.
In addition to rebuilding the network Western Power crews have individually inspected a total of 380 homes to identify if an electrician is needed to ensure the household connection is safe.
Acting CEO Stewart Hart congratulated the more than 200 linesmen and women who have rebuilt the network so quickly. "The work achieved in the past week by the crews on the ground, the additional logistical support teams and the community engagement group has been outstanding," he said.
