The Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project will deliver electricity from new wind farms in the Tehachapi area to SCE customers and the California transmission grid. Consisting of new and upgraded electric transmission lines and substations between eastern Kern County and San Bernardino County, it plays a vital role in meeting California’s renewable energy goal of 33 percent by the year 2020.

Quanta Services Selected for Chino Hills Segment of Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project

PAR Electrical Contractors, Inc. (PAR), a Quanta Services company, was selected by Southern California Edison for the 500-kV underground project for the Chino Hills segment of the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project.

PAR's scope of work under the contract is the civil package, which includes all infrastructure installation, road borings, man holes, steel risers and right of way restoration. Quanta expects construction of the project to begin this quarter and anticipates completing the project during the first quarter of 2015.
