New Safetyshield™ Barrier for Ratchet Wire Cutters

Chance^® has introduced a new version of its Safetyshield™ hot stick barrier to fit its ratchet wire cutters. The patented device quickly mounts with a non-metal clamp and fastener on four models of Chance insulated wire cutters. It adds a 16-inch-diameter protective transparent screen of flame-retardant polycarbonate between a lineman and a potential electrical arc flashback hazard. Tested per ASTM Standard F2522-05, this Safetyshield™ barrier weighs from 1 lb 6 oz (0.62 kg.) and comes in a bright orange protective storage case with instructions. Last year, Chance^® first introduced Safetyshield™ hot stick barriers for clampsticks, hooksticks and elbow-puller tools.
