Greenlee's ES25 battery-powered ratchet-style cable cutter is designed specifically for cutting aluminum conductor steel-reinforced (ACSR) and other steel-reinforced cables. It cuts most cables in about 8 seconds or less. The 7.7-lb cutter can be easily operated with one hand, which makes it a timesaving tool for overhead crews at power utilities and utility contractors.

The ES25 is equipped with a heavy-duty motor that enables the cutting of ACSR up to 636 kcmil. The ES25 comes with a 14.4-V NiCd battery and is capable of making approximately 50 cuts of Grosbeak or 120 cuts of Merlin on one battery charge. The blades are specially contoured and designed to slice the aluminum strands and then snap the steel strands.

The forward/reverse lever and the trigger on the ES25 are all operated with one hand, allowing the end user to position and steady the cable with the other hand. The rugged gear-drive system assures long life and smooth operation. An integral circuit breaker protects the motor if the tool becomes overloaded.

The Greenlee ES25 comes with two batteries, a 120-V or 230-V battery charger and a molded carrying case.
