The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted DuPont registration approval for DuPont Perspective, Streamline and Viewpoint herbicides. The three innovations will provide land managers with new tools to help control overgrown vegetation that can cause safety issues, including power outages, fires and road hazards.

Based on aminocyclopyrachlor, a new chemistry from the DuPont pipeline with a favorable environmental profile, these products provide long-lasting control of a wide spectrum of difficult brush and broadleaf weeds in utility rights of way, roadsides, railroad sites, nature preserves, parks and other areas.

The U.S. registration marks the first commercialization of this chemistry, which is being developed for use in land management, pasture/rangeland and sugar cane markets around the world. Commercialization of pasture/rangeland products based on this chemistry is anticipated in the United States in 2013.

The new land management herbicides for the U.S. market were designed to meet the specific needs of a wide range of land managers in multiple settings.

  • DuPont Perspective herbicide selectively controls broadleaf and invasive weeds along roadsides and other sites while preserving desirable grasses and natural habitats.
  • DuPont Streamline herbicide controls noxious weeds, brush and broadleaf weeds in utility rights of way and along roadsides where natural grasses and habitats need to be maintained.
  • DuPont Viewpoint herbicide provides broad-spectrum brush control of tough species in utility and industrial rights of way.
