JCP&L Arbor Day Celebration Features Tree Plantings and Dedications at Local Schools

Jersey Central Power & Light representatives and foresters celebrated Arbor Day with students, teachers and administrators by planting and dedicating ornamental cherry trees at schools in Bayville, Morristown and Wayne.

"We are proud to join with local schools to support the mission of the Arbor Day Foundation, which is to plant, nurture and celebrate trees," said Jim Fakult, President of JCP&L.  "Events like these support our long-standing commitment to promote excellence in tree care, training and public education."

The three participating schools are Clara B. Worth Elementary School in Bayville; Frelinghuysen Middle School in Morristown; and Pines Lake Elementary School in Wayne.

Ornamental cherry trees reach a maximum height of approximately 25 feet and are considered safe to plant in many locations where taller trees could interfere with power lines.  JCP&L donated the trees and worked with the schools to choose ideal locations to plant the trees.
