Snyder poly plastic utility enclosures are made using the High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Plastic Resin with a UV 8 sun protectant stabilizer. The HDPE plastic resin is a Class 2 recyclable plastic and is suitable for utilities trying to meet their quota for reducing the carbon footprint. The utility pedestals, vaults, and transformer pads are all rotationally molded at Snyder’s plant located in Bensenville, Illinois. The accompanying photo shows a pedestal in dark green polyethylene.

The pedestals are available in multiple configurations. Snyder offers several advantages over concrete or fiberglass: plastic offers a minimum of 10% weight savings and high-impact strength. It has a UV 8 additive in the resin, so it does not become brittle under exposure to the elements. HDPE also offers high chemical resistance.
