The U.S. Department of Energy just released a proposed rule to enhance grid resiliency by ensuring nuclear and coal-fired generation resources that can meet certain criteria like a 90 day on-site fuel supply are compensated for their reliability services. Various states have also considered legislation to provide around-market incentives to protect individual nuclear and coal plants.
