SOS Intl now offers Distribution System Operations Training – an online program that gives students a working knowledge of the technical concepts associated with modern electric power distribution system design, equipment, and operations.

The program courses provide working knowledge of how distribution systems are configured and function while addressing electrical fundamentals, reliability, control, protection, smart devices, and safety.

“We’ve targeted this particular program to distribution control center personnel, dispatchers, engineers, and field operations personnel, including linemen and field workers,” explained Rocky Sease, CEO of SOS.

The online training consists of seven courses:

  •  Introduction to Distribution Systems
  •  Overhead and Underground Facilities
  •  System Protection and Coordination
  •  Distribution Operations
  •  Safety for Distribution Systems
  •  Distribution Control Centers and Smart Devices
  • System Protection Fundamentals

“SOS is constantly designing and developing courses that improve performance within the utility industry. The Distribution System Operations training is another program which will enable utility personnel to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively while ensuring grid reliability,” said Sease.
The course is appropriate for all audiences and does not require any prior knowledge of the Electric Power System or its principles.
