Line Crews Head to the Southeast in Advance of Matthew

Powerful Category 3 Hurricane Matthew has steadily intensified over the warm waters of The Bahamas, and is poised to become a Category 4 hurricane this afternoon. Even as the hurricane races toward the East Coast, linemen from all over race there as well to assist local utilities in cleaning up and recovering power as soon as possible. "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst."

The power delivery industry prides itself on its brotherhood and community, and times like this are when it shines. And more than 2,000 utilities have signed a mutual aid agreement that addresses coordination with federal government agencies during widespread power outages.
